Why the silence, Anwar?

So the by-election for Permatang Pauh will be held on Aug 26 and the nominations day will be on Aug 16. A 10-day campaign period is long enough for both sides to do a lot of mudslinging. It is going to be quite interesting as Ezam Mohd Noor has promised to reveal something "very shameful" about his former boss, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. I wonder what that's going to be.

Ezam has been going around criticising Anwar, but I am quite surprised that the latter had chosen not to hit back. When I was still a journalist at NST, I had covered Anwar for a long time and I know for a fact that Anwar is a person who retaliates promptly whenever someone attacks him.

In fact, Anwar also chose not to rebut criticisms by his former tennis partner S. Nallakaruppan, who had since left Parti Keadilan Rakyat to set up his own party. I wonder why?

My guess is this: Ezam and Nalla have one thing in common. They both hold the key to Anwar's many closets of skeletons. If they come up in the open, it could be quite damaging for Anwar.

P/S: Ezam seems to be interested to run in the by-election on the Barisan Nasional ticket. But I think placing him as a candidate will be a wrong move for Umno and BN. It will surely incur the wrath of many in Umno. Umno cannot afford to have their own members boycott the by-election. BN can win the Permatang Pauh by-election if it remains focused and united. The last thing it needs is infighting.

Don't touch Anwar lah brader. The moment you talk about him, his rating going up, even if you silent about him also, he will get the support. I bet you, he will win handsomely at Permatang Pauh.
